Edinburgh Printmakers

Edinburgh Printmakers

Established in 1967, Edinburgh Printmakers was the first open access print studio in the UK. They play a leading role in connecting studios, workshops, and creative spaces nationally and internationally, enabling high-quality making and social enterprise.

Among other projects, as a charity they provide spaces for hire and use that income to directly support and fund their community engagement and social enterprise work, increasing access to printmaking and the arts.

Set in Castle Mills in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, a beautiful heritage building that was formerly a rubber factory and brewery complex, Edinburgh Printmakers fosters a creative atmosphere for both the local community and visitors to enjoy. An international centre with world-class facilities, a strong sense of heritage, and exceptional models of support for artists. Here visitors can connect with their work and they can connect with the world.

Edinburgh Printmakers actively support individuals and organisations across Scotland to develop and deliver printmaking and visual arts that reflect Scotland’s diversity and distinct identity. As highly skilled printmakers, contemporary art researchers, producers, curators, and educators, they are a key agent in the cultural life of Scotland and its capital city.
