Don’t want to buy? Then borrow!
With the Edinburgh Library of Things (ELoT), you can browse and borrow from an extensive inventory of items for your everyday or one-off needs and wants. From air mattresses to zesters and everything in between, you’ll have access to the entire inventory when you join as a member.
A library of things works similarly to your normal libraries. Except instead of storing and lending books it stores and lends things. Sometimes these libraries might specialise in particular types of items such as tools, instruments, or board games.
Other times these libraries might be more general and stock a wide variety of items for hobbies, jobs, and events. That’s ELOT!
Like a library, they also :
- Run events and workshops for community knowledge sharing.
- Provide opportunities to meet people in your neighbourhood and community.
- Help build community through sharing resources and helping each other.
