Edinburgh Old Town Development Trust

Edinburgh Old Town Development Trust (EOTDT) was set up by local residents to help the Old Town develop in a way that meets the needs of the people who live in it
EOTDT is a registered charity committed to the revitalisation of the Old Town through stimulating growth in community participation, the arts and enterprise.

It aims to support a vibrant, sustainable community in the Old Town by: developing enterprising projects to meet local needs; establishing a network of gardens and green spaces; promoting education and training; and preserving the area’s built and cultural heritage.

The Crannie is one of EOTDT’s latest initiatives. A new community hub for the Old Town located at 9 Cranston Street, it offers spaces for meetings, activities and a base for local residents and other like-minded organisations to work from. Publications from the Word Bank community publishing project, such as The Evergreen books, are available to buy at The Crannie as well.
