Over the last 9 years Scran Academy has helped 598 young people to access their educational & volunteering programmes and served 253,044 meals in their youth led social enterprise.

“Scran Academy was born because young people in communities like mine were being failed by systems that too often expected them to shrink themselves to fit in.
“I grew up in West Pilton, a place full of brilliant people, resilience and potential, but also one shaped by poverty, stigma and generations of being told to expect less. Poverty continues to drive a stagnant attainment gap, worsening mental health, exclusion from education and
reduced life chances. None of that is inevitable. All of it is changeable. That is why Scran exists”

- Free meals for the community
- Places on their Youth-led advisory board
And most importantly a place for young people that feel disconnected from learning, overwhelmed by anxiety or written off before they’ve had a proper chance.
